Notes from Justin

Mon/Tuesday dress notes

Hi all, great job so far this week!  We are on track although this is very challenging show from the technical, special effects side, please continue to pray for wisdom for our tech leaders.

We will Start tonight with Act 1, scene 1. Please eat first then into costume then makeup for act 2. Those with mics please be taped up and ready for mic tests onstage by 5:40.  Cast meeting at 6 pm in greenroom and then run through starts at 6:05

Some notes:

Janet/crew-can you work on remarking the Potts home to allow for masking the crew kids working the breakfast machine better?  Some of the glow tape marks are not specific enough. we multiple "table" marks that need to be defined more specifically like "Potts table"

Soldiers that strike inventors car please practice striking car before rehearsal starts

All with vulgarian lines remember to say Zee instead of the and und instead of and

Spies- yah not yeah.  Dont wear those glasses if they keep falling off during movement

Matthieu can you find someone to help you attach your pocket watch properly

Bill harriman, we are going to change the ending of hushabye mountain to have fun fair music from the show instead of the carnival music you found.

All with lines, please review each day. A lot of the cues depends on you knowing your lines 100 percent and projecting well so the tech team can understand you

Baron place screen more stage right to begin with

Haley sing solo looking out at audience more instead of looking only at kids around you

Jiana and others with shawls, please tie them up or don't wear them for the scene, pin them to costumes

Careful on using modern words and phrases for Adlibs, I heard "guys, guys" during sewer scene.  There are some exceptions like when Baron talks about TMobile

Kids hold final pose for teamwork, wait for full blackout to exit stage

baroness when you sing the bad note, hold your ear and ad lib a little more during samba intro scene

Samba looked great with costumes, teamwork has good potential too

Aaron poppin and lockin love it!

Kelly-do samba boys need cumber buns?

During bows, look out to audience instead of watching each other bow

All Watch out for backlights in front, the bulbs break very easily

Lights-please keep  audience at half until toward end of overture

Caleb-please see Kelly Head for your costume to wear throughout show.  During team work ending I dont want the car to move anymore, so you can exit sooner with Coggins maybe?

Collin and kids we are going to add some more staging to the Team work section of the opening tonight

Bill- motorcycle drive off sounds started too early

Collin look at audience as well as kids during song You Two

Motorcycle scene people find light downstage a few more feet

Potts try to make kids laugh during you two, that's your job

Kids & Potts say " right" different each time in a way that would make the others laugh, use funny voices and intonations

Coggins bring a pipe from home to pretend smoke

Junkman-Relish the line "not anymore she ain't"  with a smile

Props real whistles for pots family when they arrive at factory, maybe actors need to just keep their real whistles on their costumes?

Collin costume for bamboo, need it to be disguised

Chorus in Bamboo, be loud during dance breaks not during singing sections

Chorus great "5678" part best ever

After Bamboo all Chorus exit downstage left while crew brings on house upstage left

Baron " teamwork can make my spleen hurt...."

Spotlight operators if you see singers in dark spots constantly add a cue into your script to spot them until the lighting grid catches up

Love dry ice!

Spies missed line we vant you to surrender the car

Pots start driving it slowly on "is she a floating car?" line

Kids react to the floating boat more

All with line find your light, adjust blocking to light feel it on face, if its not a little blinding then you are not in your light. example: ryan as junkman come downstage more

We are proud of you guys, keep learning and growing.
